Ep. 112: Intuitive Birth and Trusting Your Body with Birthkeeper Clarke Snell

Intuitive Birth and Trusting Your Body with Birthkeeper Clarke Snell

“[As a doula] You’re holding the stories of these women and children, you’re keeping the space. You are the person who is sitting in the deep emotions, in the life transition, in the hard stuff with them and you’re just keeping that for them rather than trying to fix it.”

Clarke Snell is a Taurus born on Earth Day, a birthkeeper, and a low waste inspiration. She’s also one of my best friends. We met in college at Veg Club, which she founded, and through Yoga Club, which we both taught yoga for. She currently is a doula/birthkeeper for an organization that works with younger/teen mothers in the Chicago area, where she lives.

“The greatest thing that people [giving birth] are challenged with or struggle with is not having a village, not having a community, not having a support system.”

This episode is playful and fun because we love each other but it’s also really DEEP! In the intro, I share my thoughts and feelings about having children/the revelations that have been cracking open for me around that, as well as some things that are coming up around vulnerability & deep intimacy.

“We’re so tapped out from what does it feel like to just be? What does it feel like to just birth?”

In this episode, we talk about:
